About Alice
Alice Peternell (nee Wilson) is a highly experienced dressage rider and trainer with a successful 20 year+ track record across the levels. She is currently based 5 mins from Jnct 18 of the M4, not far from Bristol / Bath.
Starting Out
Alice evented at Pony Club level as a child and then went on to train in Holland with Bert Rutten - former Chef d'equipe to the Dutch National Dressage Team, two time Olympian and World Master of the Dressage Grand Prix.
Her first real break came when she brought the talented 5yr old Ernie (Wendelicht) up through the ranks from Young Riders to GP and went on to be long listed for the Atlanta Olympics.
Competitive Track Record
Alice has trained many horses to Advanced level including Equilibra Mazzeltov, Fan-set, Plutonium and Surprise.
Over the years she has won regional, winter national & young horse championships on many different horses. Some of her most notable wins came with Surprise, taking both the 6yr old Championships at Hickstead and the November Winter championships in the same year (2006).
She represented Great Britain on number of occasions such as in 2002 at Hickstead CDIO, and was long listed for the Atlanta Olympics 1996.
She currently enjoys competing regularly, year-round, with a string of horses across the levels (Novice, Elementary, Advanced Medium and PSG) and trains regularly with Carl Hester.
A very versatile rider, Alice has hit the headlines most recently for, both unusually and successfully, competing a 10 year old Cremello Welsh cob pony stallion (Cyndheidrefawr Creme de la Creme) to PSG.
Rider Training
Alice also really enjoys passing her knowledge and experience on to others, in conjunction with her own riding.
She has become a well-established and highly respected dressage trainer, having successfully trained many combinations (both Dressage and Event Riders) to achieve national and international titles up to GP; and is a fully qualified Level 3 UKCC Dressage Coach.
